Our History
Mental Health America of Beaufort / Jasper Counties has had a presence on Hilton Head Island since 1972. In 1997, 2004 and 2007, we were awarded Staffed Affiliate of the Year by the State of South Carolina Mental Health Association.
Our files are now full of success stories: individuals who regained independent living skills through our clubhouse model psychosocial rehab program; suicides that were prevented through our Shared Holiday Dinner. The support needed to continue the MHA’s vital programs must come from within the community.
The Mental Health Association of Beaufort-Jasper Counties is here to provide our community with information and advocacy for mental health support. The local association has implemented many programs and services in this area to help those with mental illness.
MHABJ has over 35 years of proven and successful history with educational programs benefiting individuals, groups and organizations. The support needed to continue MHABJ’s vital programs must come from within the community.
